Talk 1 - Measuring Mobile Networks using Cell Phones

Abstract: Currently, one of the principal means of access to the Internet is the use of cellular networks. These technologies have been developed in recent years, since the publication of 2G/GSM until the current 4G/LTE. In this context, the measurement of the quality of the services and Internet are very important to the usability of the network. Measuring the quality of Internet connections since 2006, SIMET system today offers several resources for measuring mobile networks. This presentation intends to show the importance of different KPIs for mobile networks and show how users can use the SIMET Mobile to capture and analysis of these metrics.

Short bio: Marcelo Tomio Hama is graduated in Science Computer and received the master degree in 2013. Currently he is working as a projects analyst at NIC.br in projects for the Internet Quality Measurement.
Fabrício Tamusiunas is graduated in Science Computer and has worked the past 17 years on issues related to computer networks, systems development and management, having different works presented in various national and international events. He is currently projects manager at NIC.br, managing projects for the Internet Quality Measurement.
