GT-ReBUS
Redes de Acesso em ônibus Universitários
Period: 20120-2011
The goal is
To develop a new service in order to provide Internet access for institutions served by RNP, in particular universities.
Ubiquitous network access and mobility evolved from research subjects to development projects thanks to the growth of new wireless communications technologies. These new technologies, especially the IEEE 802.11 protocol family, provide high data transmission rates.
It will implement
a prototype of a mobile network that accesses the Internet by using vehicular networks interconnected to a wireless mesh network. Users with mobile phones and laptops equipped with IEEE 802.11 interfaces will access the Internet inside buses that serve students and professors in university campuses.
