- SMS-600V STM-1 or STM-4 Versatile Add-drop Multiplexer -

Outline
  • Combines the functions of an STM-1 add-drop multiplexer (ADM) and an STM-4 ADM in the same subrack, functionally determined by the user's choice of plug-in units and configurations
  • Multiplexes a variety of tributaries -- 2 Mbps, 34 Mbps, 140 Mbps, and STM-1 (155 Mbps) signals -- to offer a synchronous STM-1 or STM-4 (622 Mbps) signal
  • Has management functions -- surveillance, performance monitoring, provisioning, and security management -- controlled from a local craft terminal (LCT) or remotely through a network management system (NMS)
Key Features
  • Has a two-fiber/four-fiber multiplex section shared protection ring (2F/4F MS-SPRing)
  • Provides two-fiber subnetwork connection protection (2F SNC-P)
  • Is upgradable from STM-1 to STM-4
  • Has application modes for both STM-1 and STM-4 installed in the same subrack
  • Achieves a 200% add-drop capacity (504 x 2 Mbps) with an extension subrack
  • Provides a crossconnect function
  • Has mixed tributary operation
  • Provides Qnx and Qecc management interface support
  • Has operations, administration, maintenance, and provisioning (OAM & P) functions
  • Conforms to the newest ITU-T and ETSI SDH standards
