Introduction

The 802.11 family, started in 1997, aims at defining how should behave the Physical layer and the MAC layer for Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). In 2009, The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) approved the amendment called IEEE 802.11n-2009, shorted IEEE 802.11n. This amendment brings improvements upon the previous generations like 802.11a or 802.11g. It allows a maximum net data that can theoretically reach 600 Mbit/s.  This is due to the use of multiple antennas, with a MIMO technology, frame aggregation and other features which will be detailled in this site.
